Popped on over to one of my spots on the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek tonight for some after work fishing action.

Caught this nice rockbass at the East Branch

Rockin' It

I was able to pull three nice fish out of the East Branch tonight.  The Rockbass above was the last fish I caught and the smallest but was still a good size for a Rock Bass.

The Smallmouth Bass were biting at the east branch of the perkiomen creek

Smallmouth Bass were biting

This beautiful 13″ Smallmouth Bass was the first one I caught for the evening.  I keyed in to a strategy for catching Smallmouth Bass of this size the last time I fished this spot on the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek.  They love to hang out near the deeper quick moving water in the creek.  I found a great place with additional structure that seemed to be the spot.

Chunky Smallmouth Bass caught on the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek

This chunker put up a fight

This chunky Smallmouth Bass put on quite a show for the other fishermen who arrived while I was fishing.  I don’t know if it’s the water in this creek or what but the Smallmouth on the East Branch seem to pull like mules.

It’s been weird here. I almost feel like they are biting more when it’s hot and sunny out. Wonder if watermelon w/black fleck is better when it’s sunny. I’ve been catching most on that color. Bite shuts off with clouds.
