  1. I’d have to add, that the best way to describe/define the rectifier and its function, is that it converts AC (alternating current) to DC (direct current).
    The engine’s alternator produces AC, but AC cannot charge/maintain a battery — only DC can.
    That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
