Perch ranks between those fishes that genuinely fits to surprise you about weight. Typical adult has length of around four to ten inches and weight between four and ten ounces. Yellow variant usually reaches six to twelve inches, weighing a quarter pound to one whole.

Perch Size and Weight
The biggest certified length for yellow perch matches 50 centimetres, so around 20 inches. The maximum known weight reaches about 4,2 pounds. However the average perch stays more around 19 centimetres, or 7,5 inches.
In United Kingdom they normally grow to four to ten inches long and weight between four and tewlve ounces. Here perch of one pound one would consider nice trophy.
Record fish is entirely other cause. The official world record that the International Association for Sporting Fishing acknowledged, stands at 2,9 kilos, so 6 pounds and 6 ounces. One caught it in Finland on September 4th 2010.
Already in January 2010 registered another with 3,75 kilos, or 8 pounds and 4 ounces. British record weighs 2,81 kilos, in the Netherlands it is 3,05 kilos, while in United States 2,83 kilos. In Georgia the present record shows 2 pounds and 9 ounces, from the river Savannah in 2013.
