💡 Calculation Tips
📏 Use Girth for More Accurate Weight: The standard formula for estimated weight is: (Length x Girth²) / 800 for most freshwater species. This gives a more accurate comparison than length alone.
🏆 What Counts as a Trophy? Most anglers and fishing organizations consider a fish that reaches 70% or more of the all-tackle world record weight a true trophy catch for that species.
⚖ Weight vs. Length Rankings: Weight-based rankings are standard in the U.S., while length-based measurements (with immediate release) are increasingly popular for conservation catch-and-release scoring.
🐟 Condition Factor (K): A healthy fish has a condition factor near 1.0. K = (Weight in grams / Length in cm³) x 100,000. Values above 1.2 indicate an exceptionally well-fed, thick fish which scores higher in trophy comparisons.

Trophy Fish Chance is one of the player’s fishing stats. It raises the chance to catch trophy fish. The stat works as a multiplier for the chance of every single trophy fish.

A higher percentage gives better odds for each of them.

Trophy Fish Chance Explained

If a player has 50% Trophy Fish Chance the catch chances will be around 3% for Karate Fish, 6% for Lavahorse and 37.5% for Blobfish. An increase of 108% in that stat raises the catch chances of trophy fish by 108%, but the new rates for visible fishes in chat don’t always add up to a trophy fish every cast.

A new update added this stat. Because of a default value of 0%, players can not catch trophy fish until they raise it. Some players were surprised by that.

The 100th unique catch of a player is guaranteed to be Gold, and the 600th Diamond, if you did not catch that tier before. When you catch a trophy fish, the game decides the kind and tier. Now pity happens at 600 cathces for all fishes.

Some catch rates changed: Vanille from 4% in alpha to 8%, and Karate Fish also. For more interest, some trophy fishes have a higher chance if you meet secret criteria.

Tiers get every step more difficult to get, but they follow a linear progress with milestones in every 10 of a fish species. It’s 10 for admired, 20 for prized, 50 for treasured, and 100 four cherished.

Testing with 1000 catches gave these rates: Moldfin at 2%, Mana Ray at 2.1%, Volcanic Stonefish at 3%, Lavahorse at 4%, Vanille at 8%, Gusher at 20%, Blobfish at 25%, and Sulphur Skitter at 30%. The total chance for trophy fish comes to around 65.49%. During the test Trophy Fish Chance was 40.8% with a starter rod.

Without awning the base chance for trophy is around 5%, with awning 10% per fish caught. Trophies form around 5% of all spawns, rare trophies drop to 0.1% of all. One player did not get Golden Fish Diamond after 440 catches, so luck stays huge.

Right spots help in fishing. For Slugfish you use ember armor, cast the rod onto obsidian, wait around 28 seconds, then swap to trophy hunter set. Timed fishing challenges also help toreach a higher trophy percentage.
