Tip 1: Tandem Axle Penalty — Tandem axles increase your effective turning radius by 15–25% compared to a single axle of the same trailer length. The farther apart the axles are spaced, the larger the turning radius increase. Always add at least 20% clearance buffer when using tandem or triple axle trailers.
