Stanley has been in the market for a long time when it comes to quality container bottles. It offers a wide range of sizes and unique designs to anglers.

However, that doesn’t mean that it is all sunshine and rainbows as this thermos will leave a dent in your budget.

You’ll be feeling the sting of this purchase for a couple days at least, but that is the price that you gotta pay for the improved capacity and heat retention.

Not only will you find a ton of variety here, but the performance will arguably be out of this world.

The primary focus of this brand is to provide customers with reliable bottles and maximum insulation. Its innovative designs have made it effortless for anglers to keep their drinks hot at all times.

However, even the best products from reputed brands can cause issues sometimes.

Many anglers have recently been struggling with Stanley Thermos not keeping drinks hot.

If you’re in a similar situation and the Stanley containers are not working properly, the following methods should help.

Reasons Why Your Stanley Thermos is Not Keeping Hot

  1. Check the Seal

If you’re struggling with the Stanley Thermos Not keeping your drinks hot, then there is likely an issue with the seal of your thermos.

To fix this problem, you will first have to inspect the integrity of the seal on your unit. If the seal is damaged, then you won’t be able to keep your drinks warm until this problem is fixed.

There are a few methods that you can follow to fix the seals on your Stanley Thermos.

Even though the container won’t provide its original performance, you will still get a substantial improvement in the insulating abilities of your thermos after fixing the seal.

All you need to do is grab a heat gun and warm up the plastic seals on the end of the cover.

Now, you should use a metal piece to readjust the seal to make it sit perfectly on the cover.

After adjusting the shape of the seal, just let it dry for a few minutes and then experiment with putting a warm beverage in the Stanley Thermos. Hopefully, the issue will be fixed at this stage.

  1. Check for Dents

Even though the brand claims that its thermos is quite durable, the insulation between the two layers of the container can easily get damaged.

So, if you’re a bit rough with the thermos and there are dents all over the unit, then that is likely why your Stanley Thermos won’t keep your beverages hot.

Dropping the thermos even once can impact the insulation capacity of the container. This is why it is always best to be extra careful while dealing with similar items.

If you’re in a similar situation, then there is not much that you can do to fix the container yourself. It is likely that you will have to buy a new unit from the online store.

Once the insulation is damaged, it is pretty difficult to fix it yourself.

The resources that you will need to fix the thermos will far exceed the actual value of the unit. So, save yourself some time and look for a thermos replacement.

Make sure to be extra careful with the unit this time, and it will keep your beverages hot for an extended period.

  1. Check The Lid

The next thing that you gotta do is to check the lid. Even when you’re confident that the thermos is not damaged, putting up the lid too loosely on the themross will only create these issues.

So, what can you do? You can tighten up the lid properly.

high temperature

Now, we all know that the basics behind the thermos is that a vacuum is created that keeps the contents insulated and warm for hours.

However, when this vacuum is compromised, you can’t expect the thermos to work.

So, the manual will always list out all the dos and the don’ts of this situation. Just follow through with those information pieces and tighten up the lid properly.

You have to think of the lid as the seal that will keep the warmth inside the thermos.

If the lid is compromised or the gunk around the bottle doesn’t let the lid sit properly, then all the vacuum will not form and the warmth will escape.

Now, you’re not left with many options when it comes to a damaged lid.

However, you do have an option when you’re dealing with the gunk and the debris being close to and around the opening.

You can just make a diluted vinegar solution yourself, and then use a brush to loosen up and remove the debris.

From there, you can rinse out the thermostat one more time and then wipe away all the vapors.

Yes, it is a hassle to get through the cleaning cycle when the gunk has formed, but you can always avoid it by rinsing out your thermos every day.

Basic care requirements go a long way when you’re talking about retaining heat in the thermos. So, be sure to follow through with the details here and you’ll have an amazing time getting the warmth to stay in the thermos.

  1. Try A Different Liquid

Now, we do understand that the thermos is designed to keep all liquids warm inside the thermos, but think of it more as an experiment.

Just pour some boiling water into the thermos and then let it sit for about 45 minutes.

Make sure the lid is tight, there are no dents, and that the seals are in good shape. From there, you can pour out the boiling water in a cup and check the temperature difference.

replace

If it is completely cold, then you are dealing with a defective thermos. Just call up the support and get it replaced pronto

On the other hand, if the liquid is warm, then you gotta check the stuff you’re putting into the thermos before taking it with you on the fishing trip.

Most often than not, the issue is that the anglers let the liquids sit out and get cold before they pour them in the thermostat.

You might also be making the same mistake, and if the water was hot as it came out of the thermos after 45 minutes, then the thermos is working as intended.

You don’t have to blame this device, and just have to look at the temperature of the liquids before you put them in the thermos to get ahead of these errors.

  1. Claim Warranty

If you’re sure that there are no dents on the unit and the seal is in perfect shape, then there is a good chance that your unit is defective.

If your purchase was recent, then you should immediately reach out to Stanley customer support. Explain your situation to them and forward your warranty claim.

warranty

If the claim is valid, you should be able to get your hands on a thermos replacement within a few days. However, if the warranty is past the due date, then you will have to purchase a new container.

To be sure, you can reach out to the Stanley customer support through Email, support ticket, and by calling their company number.

The customer support will ask for more details regarding the model as well as the purchase date. Make sure also to provide them with a receipt and wait for their response.

It can take a few business days, but you will surely get a replacement as long as your warranty claim is valid.

Most of the time, the only viable troubleshooting method is to ask customer support for a replacement. Once the insulation on the Stanley Thermos gets some damage, there is no going back.

There is no reversing this damage, and you will have to buy a new unit to keep your beverages warm. For more instructions, you should reach out to Stanley customer support.

Wrapping Up

Now we’ve seen many great reviews on the Stanely thermos, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any bad reviews.

Some anglers have shown their dissatisfaction on the Stanley thermos not keeping the hot liquids hot. So, you might also have to deal with similar situations.

Most of the time, the issue is more with the seals and the lid. You gotta make sure that the warmth is sealed properly and that there are no issues on that end.

Otherwise, you will just be overcomplicating the situation, and the liquids won’t remain warm.

On the last note, you should just reach out to the dealer and have him help you out. There is simply no need to waste any more time if you think that the thermos is defective.

Reaching out to the dealer might just make your life easier, and you will be able to claim the warranty right away.

The support behind this brand is amazing, and you’ll not have to deal with any challenges when it comes to the warranty claiming routine. Hopefully, you’ll be able to get a new thermos in no time.

  1. How do I get a replacement seal for my Stanley 1.7L Model #EN12546-1. I have put it in the garbage twice but can’t seem to throw out a perfectly good thermos. The old seal was cut in the sink when cleaning and I have tried to find an o ring that fits with zero success.
