Secchi shortcut: If you measured visibility with a disk, the 1% light depth is usually near 2.7 times the Secchi depth before wind, algae, and color corrections.

Fishing shortcut: Treat the 10% depth as a practical search edge, then slide shallower for cover fish or deeper for suspended clear-water fish.
