As long as you’re working with a reliable unit, it shouldn’t be that hard to manage the chart in the display. So, all you need to do is grab a Navionics SD card.

Install it in your unit to access different regions across the nation. People can also download the application on their mobile phones and then access these different regions.

Using the Navionics application is quite simple, and it provides people with tons of features.

Though there have been many questions regarding issues with Navionics.

If you’re also struggling with a similar problem and don’t know why is your Navionics not working, then the following solutions might give you a clear idea.

It is essential that people go through all of the steps mentioned below.

This is because there are several reasons that can cause problems like these. As long as you understand what might be causing the issue for you, fixing it should be a lot easier.

Why Is My Navionics Not Working?

  1. Check Chart Status On the Application

If you have not updated the charts through the Navionics subscriptions in a long time, then that is likely why your Navionics is not working. To get around this issue, you will have to subscribe and update all charts on the card.

That will help you access updated information along with more potential spots in the region. So, start the troubleshooting process by updating charts in your unit.

Once the charts have been updated, you will be able to access all the charts without any issues. Ideally, all problems should be fixed at this stage if your card is in perfect condition.

So, if you’re still stuck in the same problem, try to check the integrity of your card.

This can be slightly confusing for some people, but you should note that there are several ways to do this. The first method that you can go with is removing the card from your device and then checking if it looks damaged.

If the card looks good, then you can clear out the dust from the card slot. There might be some debris inside it that might be blocking the connections for your card.

After removing the clogs, you can install the card back in and it should now work without any further problems.

The second thing people can do is check the status of the card. You can usually do this by accessing the settings on your device.

If you notice that the card is not getting detected, then there is a high chance that the card is either damaged or the connections are clogged.

  1. Check Pins On Your Navionics Card

Even though you give proper attention to the maintenance of your unit, it is quite easy to run into issues with the pins on your Navionics card. Depending upon the age of the card, you are likely dealing with corroded pins on the unit.

These corroded pins will block the connection between the card and your display unit. In some situations, pins can also get bent out of shape or broken from the card.

So, unless you remove the corrosion from the Navionics card pins, it will be impossible to access the charts.

All in all, damaged pins on your Navionics card are one of the primary issues that can create problems in your system.

Hopefully, the problem will be fixed when you fix the corrosion issues and manage the condition of the pins.

The best way to remove the corrosion is by taking a small cotton bud and then pouring a solution of water and vinegar on it.

This can then be rubbed on the pins of the card. The chemical reacts with the corrosion and starts to soften the layer.

As a result, you can remove most of the corrosion easily and fix your problem. As for the pins being bent, these should be slightly pushed back into place.

The process is difficult as moving the pins back mostly requires luck. There is a high chance that these might break while you were trying to push them back.

If this happens or if the pins were already damaged, then your only option will be to purchase a new card.

  1. Card Might Be Locked

Sometimes people notice that they are unable to download the charts on their Navionics card. If you notice that the download bar is not moving even after you have tried the steps mentioned above, then your card might be locked.

When it comes to this, people should note that the brand has put a lock on the device that prevents users from downloading data on it. This can be quite annoying and frustrating to deal with, but the lock is fairly simple to unlock.

The only thing that you need to do is remove the Navionics card from your device. You will notice that there should be a small circular pin on its side that is pushed down.

If that is the case, then simply moving it back up should unlock the card.

People can then place this back inside their devices and start updating the charts. If you notice that the pin is locked in place, then apply some additional pressure as it might be stuck.

The process is fairly simple but if you notice that the card is still not working then you might be dealing with a faulty card reader. In cases like these, the best solution is to simply use another card reader for your device.

These can be bought from any store so you should not have much trouble.

People can also check their card reader by installing another SD card inside it. This helps in confirming if the problem was from their card reader or not.

  1. Call Navionics Customer Support Team

If the problem is not fixed at this stage, then your best option is to seek help from the experts. In most situations, users are dealing with defective pins on the card that blocks the connection.

However, if the pins on your card seem in perfect condition, then there is a possibility that you’ve purchased a defective card.

To get to the bottom of this situation, try reaching out to the experts working at Navionics. Provide them with details of your issue.

That way, you won’t have to waste any time trying to guess the problem, and it will be much easier to isolate the issue with the help of a professional.

Once the issue has been identified, you can easily follow the troubleshooting steps recommended by the experts.

Hopefully, the Navionics card will start working again. Keep in mind that the process can take some time, so it is best that you stay patient throughout it.

One more thing that should be noted is that the card comes with warranty support on it. Even if the card gets damaged, you can usually get it replaced with a new one for free. Just make sure that you go through the warranty guidelines once.

As long as this is done, you should be able to understand if the card falls under the warranty guidelines or not. If it does then the brand will send you a new card within a few days.

On the other hand, if you are having trouble trying to find the warranty guidelines then these can be checked online. Just visit the official website for Navionics and go through it to find the list of services.

  2. I have been using your app for a few years which has worked well. However, recently when I use the app, all features work perfectly for a minute or two but then the knot meter reads 0. It does not matter what sped I am moving at. All of the other feature’s work and satellites are registering.

Do you have any ideas regarding how I might be able to correct this problem?
